Baseball guys turned software guys.
We started out by solving our own problem.
5 years ago, our founder worked for Pitching Performance Lab (PPL), a pitching development facility, as a pitching coach. As player development became increasingly data-driven, led by forward-thinking MLB organizations and Driveline Baseball, so did Pitching Performance Lab. But it was hard for us to get the most out of our technology and data because with it came unmanageable overhead.
One of the biggest problems was finding a consistent way to share the data PPL was collecting with athletes, parents, and coaches that didn't effectively turn us into an IT Help Desk.
Over time, through trial and error, we were able to develop a scalable solution to the problem that didn't require juggling TrackMan and Rapsodo profile access or burying coaches in spreadsheets.
We used PPL's data to create web-based leaderboards and public data profiles. The best part? They're easily accessible and sharable for everyone, meaning the data now contributes to Pitching Performance Lab's growth as well as stokes the athletes' competitive fire.
We didn't just want to keep this solution for ourselves. We wanted other facilities to enjoy the same benefits from implementing these systems as Pitching Performance Lab. Enter PitchBucket.
